What is a pre-set?
A preset is a specific camera angle and zoom level pre-defined by you or HomeView. This allows you to click a single button and have the camera immediately move to and focus on a preset location. This makes it quick and easy for you to view an area of interest (entrance, trailer, etc.) This also allows the camera system to take snapshot images on a pre-defined timeframe at each preset location and store those in our archives for future reference.
What images are stored in the archives?
When a camera goes on patrol it will take pictures at each of the pre-set locations. From 6 am to 6 pm the camera goes on patrol once every five minutes. At night it goes on patrol every minute. By default, we store these images for 30 days. For an additional fee we can provide the following added services:
• Store pictures for longer that 30 days
• Create a time laps video
How much information is stored in the archives?
By default we will store pictures for 30 days as part of the service.
How often does the camera go on patrol and how long does a patrol take?
At night (6pm to 6am) the camera goes on patrol every minute. During the day the camera goes on patrol every five minutes. This allows you more time to go on line to see the camera live. Each patrol takes less than 1 minute.
What happens when I go to live camera webpage and the camera is in patrol mode?
The camera will finish the current patrol, archiving the images for later reference. Once the patrol is complete, you will retain full control.
How many presets can I have on the camera?
We will set up 1-8 presets on the camera. We allow a maximum of 8 presets per camera.
Can I change the presets on the camera?
Yes, and this is important in maintaining your jobsite security. As your building goes up you will need to adjust the preset camera angle and sometimes create new presets. Simply contact HomeView Technologies and our IT staff will make any changes you like to the presets.
How many people can I provide with access to the website?
You can share your company login ID to as many people as you like. Or we can create a different login for owners, subcontractors or others that may have restricted access. For example you will probably want to restrict homeowner access to only their own home. You may want sub-contractors to only see the camera in live view mode without access to archived images.
How do I get the live video to show up on my screen?
You may need to load an active X control on your computer. This will generally be recognized the first time you log onto your live camera. The computer will prompt you to load the active X and you click on the Active X control bar and then click on Yes. If you have further challenges please contact HomeView.
For how long will I have access to the camera?
Our service is a monthly service that can go as long as your project.
Can I move the camera to another site?
We can move the camera to another location. This will entail a relatively small move/install fee rather than the full installation fee charged when you get a new camera.
